MyVirtualHome has been designed so it's easy to use thereby enabling anyone with a compatible PC to gain the benefits of working with their projects in 3D.
With any new software product learning how to use it is often a question of knowing where to start. MyVirtualHome has included a number of steps including videos and tutorials so that you will be able to be get up and going with your designs very quickly.
With over 10,000 downloads of the MyVirtualHome software every month we've become well accustomed to what it takes to have smooth introduction to using MyVirtualHome so settle back and spend 30 minutes to follow the steps below...
The best tip we can give you is start slowly, don't try to rush in and make your own home straight away. We strongly recommend spending 15 minutes watching some of our tutorial videos
Once you have watched a few tutorial videos have go at making the tutorial home. Doing this will show you all you need to know to get started with MyVirtualHome and should only take you 10 minutes. In fact if you are an experienced user see how fast you can make this home, our record here in the office is 56 seconds... good luck!
To load the Tutorial Home floorplan, click on the 'Change Channel' button in the upper part of the MyVirtualHome interface and then select the 'Australian Home Building Channel' and then click 'Start'. Wait a few moments and the new channel will appear. From here select “Homes” then click on “MyVirtualHome Homes” then click on the second selection in the list titled “Small Tutorial Home – Floorplan”. Once the floorplan appears you can start building.
After you've followed steps #1 and #2 then have a go at your own home. A big tip here is to follow the logical order of the menus as they have been placed in that order for a purpose. The Room menu is above the Structures and Fittings menu for example because that is the best order to follow in making your home.
In other words we recommend that you:
#1: Place Rooms first
#2: Then place Structural elements (Like doors and Windows)
#3: Then place Furniture
#4: Then paint and customise
If you follow these steps we are sure that you'll have a great time using MyVirtualHome. If for any reason you get stuck please consult the information below for additional help and assistance.
Most of all, have fun.
We strongly recommend that you check out our great range of video tutorials on the MyVirtualHome 'YouTube' Channel. These videos cover a vast range of what's possible with MyVirtualHome and how best to go about doing it.
